Indications:
This product is indicated for the treatment of hypertension.
The control of hypertension is part of the comprehensive management of cardiovascular risks. The comprehensive management measures include: Lipid control, Diabetes management, Antithrombotic therapy, Smoking cessation, Physical activity and Sodium intake restriction.
Both systolic and diastolic blood pressure elevation increase cardiovascular risk. The absolute risk increase per mmHg is greater at higher baseline blood pressure levels.
The relative risk reduction achieved by blood pressure lowering is similar across populations with different absolute cardiovascular risks. In patients with severe hypertension, even modest blood pressure reduction may confer significant clinical benefits.
Blood pressure reduction in adult hypertensive patients generally reduces the risk of cardiovascular events, primarily stroke and myocardial infarction.
However, there is no evidence from controlled clinical trials showing that this product reduces cardiovascular risk.
